How Cloud Technology Can Help You Achieve Your Business Objectives

Having the latest in technology puts you ahead in business. You can accomplish more, learn more, and serve your clients better if you are up to date on the latest services, software and hardware. So, it is no surprise that having the latest in Cloud technology can help you achieve your business objectives. Here’s how Cloud technology skills and Tampa IT training can increase productivity and help you achieve your business objectives.

Tampa IT Training Experts Talk About the Value of Cloud Technology

Collaboration

In the past, before Cloud technology, there were three collaboration scenarios you would most likely end up with.

Scenario 1:  Tom works on a document and sends it to Jane. Jane looks over the document and takes notes. She then puts those notes into an email to send back to Tom. Tom updates the document with the changes and sends his feedback to Jane, if the changes were not already made. Back and forth they go until the final document is completed.

Scenario 2:   Tom sends Jane a document that he has worked on. Jane takes the document and makes the proper changes, and sends it back to Tom to let him know what changes are made.

Scenario 3:  Tom sends Jane a document, and Tom and Jane discuss the document at a meeting and make notes. The responsible party then uses the notes from the meeting to update the document and complete it.

With cloud technology, the transaction is much simpler.  Tom uploads the document into the cloud. Jane and Tom can both make notes on the document and change the document as needed. The Cloud is automatically updating the document as the changes are made so the final version is complete.

Changes

If you’ve ever worked on a large project and saved the documents to your computer, you probably know exactly what it feels like to sift through multiple versions of the same document and tried to find the most recent version. This is not only inefficient, it can also result in you losing important changes if you pull up the wrong document, or looking  unorganized if you refer to the inappropriate document when using it as a reference.  With the cloud, you only ever have one version of your document. This means that you always have the latest version- guaranteed.

The Cloud makes everything more efficient, and being up to date on the latest in Cloud technology will put you ahead in your business.  How do you use the Cloud?

How IT Certifications Can Increase Your Worth as a Freelancer

As a freelancer, you know that you’re in a competitive market.  You have the freedom to work on your own schedule as long as you can accomplish your task, but with that freedom comes accountability.  Clients expect more from you, and they expect that you can handle their tasks. You become an authority in your field, and the main source of answers for all related questions.  Luckily, IT certifications in Tampa can help you increase your worth in a variety of ways.

IT Certifications in Tampa Are the Key to Freelance Success

They Make You Tech Savvy

Even if you aren’t an IT freelancer, almost all freelance work these days is computer-based.  The better you are at navigating software and programs relevant to your field, and using the tools that will make your job more efficient, the more you can offer to clients.  This will help your work be more advanced, efficient, and organized.

It Saves You Time

Understanding what kind of programs are available and learning them to the point of mastery can give you a huge advantage when it comes to efficiency.  Just think of how your freelance career could flourish if you had every technological advantage at your fingertips!

Certifications Enhance Your Resume

Even freelancers have resumes, and clients are looking for proof that you know what you’re doing.  To show them that proof, you need credentials.  Experience is great, but clients value education and certification.  If you have a number of certifications, clients are more likely to take you and your work seriously.

They Give You Authority

Having certifications gives you a level of authority that you can’t achieve without credentials.  Having authority allows you to back up your work, gives you a background to rely on if your work is called into question, and helps you advise and pitch future clientele.

You Will Make More Money

This is probably the most fun result of having IT certifications in Tampa as a freelancer- you can charge more.  A credentialed freelancer can charge leading industry prices, while a freelancer who is just beginning or does not have any certifications to show can usually only charge lower to mid-range prices.  Getting those higher-end gigs has a lot to do with having the education and credentials behind you to justify your pricing.

There are plenty of ways that being certified will increase your value as a freelancer.  How have certifications helped you?  Or, are you being overlooked for freelancers with more credentials?  We’d love to hear your story!

What You Should Know About the New Microsoft Streamlined Certifications

As Microsoft learning partners, we provide some of the most valuable certifications in the tech industry.  Constantly striving for improvement, Microsoft has recently streamlined its technical certifications.  This format allows you to gain credentials in industry-recognized areas of competence.  Here’s what you need to know.

Microsoft Learning Partners Explain Streamlined Certifications

Recently released are the five new MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) and MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer) specialties.  These credentials are used to identify specialty skills that are familiar to Microsoft learning partners and customers.  These include the following:

MCSE:  Cloud Platform and Infrastructure

This indicates that the credentialed individual has specialty skills relating to Windows Server and Microsoft Azure.

MSCE:  Data Management and Analysis

Both on-premises and cloud-based Microsoft data product and service skills.

MCSE:  Mobility

Windows Client and Enterprise Mobility Suite management.

MCSE:  Productivity

Skill validation for Office 365, SharePoint, Exchange, and Skype for Business.

MCSD:  App Builder

This focuses on skills validation for web and mobile app development

What is truly unique about these credentials is that they are only available after earning, and therefore added to, the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate certification.  The additional credentials are added after passing an elective exam.

While the certification will never expire, the industry does look at your willingness and ability to stay current.  The date of the achievement will be posted.  Luckily, you can renew the certification annually, by taking an additional exam.  The new date will replace the old certification.

If you already have an active MCSE or MCSD certification, don’t worry.  Any individuals who hold the following certifications will automatically earn the new similar certification without having to take an additional exam.  These are:

  • MCSE: Server Infrastructure
  • MCSE: Private Cloud
  • MCSE: Data Platform
  • MCSE: Business Intelligence
  • MCSE: Enterprise Devices and Apps
  • MCSE: SharePoint
  • MCSE: Communication
  • MCSE: Messaging
  • MCSD: Universal Windows Platform
  • MCSD: Web Applications
  • MCSD: SharePoint Applications

Just make sure you find out where you stand as soon as possible.  The following existing certifications will be retired on March 31st, and you will no longer be able to receive them.  However, if you’ve already earned one of these, it will stay on your transcript.

  • MCSE: Server Infrastructure
  • MCSE: Private Cloud
  • MCSE: Data Platform
  • MCSE: Business Intelligence
  • MCSE: Enterprise Devices and Apps
